1.                Registration

Registration must be done by completing the online form within the Registration Page. Standard registration ends on 30th September 2018. Later registration fee is €50 instead of €30.


2.                Event Hotel

We have identified a location for your accommodation and stay in the fishing and touristic village of Marsalforn which will offer comfortable surroundings for your stay and also host the meetings and presentation connected to the Competition. The Complex is easily accessible to both Mgarr Harbour and Victoria.

Bookings and payments for the stay at the hotel during the event MUST be done through FUAM to obtain a special price. Any extra services you avail of during your stay must be paid before departure.


3.                Arrival and Departure

The island of Gozo lies about 5 km North-West of Malta and is reachable by a 25-minute ferry crossing from Cirkewwa, Malta to Mgarr Harbour, Gozo.

The Public Transport bus number from the Malta International Airport to Cirkewwa Harbour is “X1” with departures approximately every 45 minutes. Further information on the various bus routes can be found on the website:


Taxis are available directly outside the Arrivals Hall at Malta International Airport 24 hours a day. A taxi service booth, from which prepaid tickets can be bought, is situated in the Arrivals Hall.

Many other private hire companies also offer personal or shared Airport transfers to Cirkewwa and some even to your location in Gozo. More information can be found on the Internet, just google “Malta Gozo AirportTransfer”.

If you will be arranging services with a dive centre in Gozo, many of these can also arrange transfer for you from Mgarr Harbour to your Hotel. 


4.                Technical Meeting

Participants are required to attend the Technical Meeting being held at the Hotel Calypso at 19:00 on the first day at a hall within the hotel. Signs will be made available at the reception.

During this meeting, the competition organisers will give an overview of the logistics, rules and final briefings. The meeting will be concluded with a small reception where you can get to know the other competitors.


5.                 Diving Equipment

The organisers will not be providing scuba diving equipment save for diving cylinders through a reliable partner dive centre. However, various scuba diving operators in Gozo will offer complete equipment rentals and some will also support the event itself. You are free to make your arrangements directly with any licensed Scuba Diving operators in Gozo.

St. Andrew’s Cove is actively assisting our event so it is our first suggestion. Remember, showing a diver certification is needed to rent any equipment!


6.                Competition Diving Days

Participants will be informed of the dive site meeting locations and time in the Technical Meeting. Transport will be made available to the chosen location from the Hotel Calypso 30 minutes before meeting time at location. Make sure you arrive at pickup / dive site point before the appointed time.


7.                Presentation Lunch

The Presentation lunch will be held at 12:00 on the 21st October 2018. Location will be confirmed closer to the day. Dietary restrictions should be indicated when submitting registration form. 


8.                Schengen - Visa

Should a visa be required in order to attend it is the participant’s responsibility to access the visa website in order to obtain the necessary application. This would need to be filed at the diplomatic mission of the main destination or country of first entry into the Schengen area, or its representation. The delegate must ensure that the application is lodged within the established deadlines in order to ensure timely review.

The meeting venue is equipped with wireless internet connection with unlimited access for all participants in public areas.

Other Facilities

A help desk providing participants with assistance as well as tourist and travel information will also be set up at the meeting venue. You will be provided with a Mobile Number of the organisers to contact locally once in Malta or Gozo.

Other Practical Information

Public Health Services at the Gozo General Hospital are also supplemented with a fully-fledged hyperbaric chamber. Services are provided by specialised personnel trained to handle diving-related illness

Using Money in Malta

There are several banks, bureaux de change and automated foreign exchange machines from where you can exchange your money. Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diner’s Club cards are accepted at every establishment that accepts payment by credit card. If you have any of the following bank cards: Visa/Electron/Plus and Mastercard/Cirrus/Solo/Maestro, you will be able to withdraw money from the several ATMs around the island. It is important to check whether your home bank has authorised your card for international use if you plan on using a debit card.

Power Supply

230V ±10% electrical supply. Supply frequency is 50Hz.

Plug socket in use is the three-pinned rectangular pin BS 1363 plug. The two-pinned round pin BS 4573 plug is used for shavers. Adapters are widely available.


The climate is a Mediterranean one. Winters in Malta are short, mild and windy, and even though with infrequent rain, the air is quite humid. Summers are long, hot, dry and very sunny.

The activity will be held in November when the weather is mild although storms are not uncommon.
